The third edition of the Maritime Information Sharing Workshop (MISW 2025) commenced with a reaffirmation of India’s commitment to securing the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), as stated by Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti, the Indian Navy’s Deputy Chief. Hosted in Gurugram from November 3 to 5, the workshop aims to enhance real-time coordination and information sharing among 30 nations, focusing on countering non-traditional maritime threats. The event emphasizes trust-based partnerships, reinforcing the IOR’s resilience and promoting a safe maritime environment essential for global commerce and geopolitical stability. This initiative illustrates India’s proactive role in fostering cooperation and security in the IOR, a critical hub for economic activities and international maritime dynamics.
