The push for streamlined access aims to enhance operational readiness of state police and paramilitary forces combating terrorism and insurgency, particularly in sensitive regions. Historically, stringent German export controls, rooted in human rights concerns, have hindered defense procurement for India. However, with Germany’s new administration signaling a willingness to review these restrictions, there is potential for strengthened defense industrial ties, aligning with India’s strategic goals and the Make in India initiative.
