India and Russia strengthen defense ties at fifth Working Group meeting in New Delhi.

India and Russia have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening defense cooperation during the fifth Meeting of the Working Group on Military Cooperation held in New Delhi. Co-chaired by Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit and Lt. General Dylevsky Igor Nikolayevich, the meeting focused on enhancing current defense engagements and exploring new initiatives under their Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent conversation with President Vladimir Putin emphasized the importance of continued collaboration and set the stage for the upcoming 23rd Annual Summit in December. This cooperation is crucial for both nations amid evolving geopolitical challenges, particularly in light of shifting dynamics in their respective regions. Strengthening ties with Russia will enhance India’s defense capabilities and strategic autonomy.
