India and Oman have solidified their defense ties during the 13th Joint Military Cooperation Committee meeting in New Delhi, focusing on deepening defense industrial cooperation, technology sharing, and co-development of advanced platforms. The discussions, co-chaired by Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh and Oman’s Secretary General of Defence, Mohammed Bin Naseer Bin Ali Al-Zaabi, emphasized enhancing collaboration in shipbuilding, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), and training cooperation, while also addressing regional security developments in the Indian Ocean Region. Both nations reiterated their commitment to a strong strategic partnership, highlighting mutual interests in regional stability, counter-terrorism, and maritime security, which are crucial for sustainable defense modernization and operational efficiency in a rapidly changing geopolitical landscape.
