During a meeting at the ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi emphasized the critical role of India and Japan in promoting peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. Both ministers discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in security, economic, and cultural exchanges, as they aim to implement a joint vision for the next decade. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar expressed optimism about the enduring partnership, which has evolved into a Special Strategic and Global Partnership. This collaboration reflects the growing convergence of interests between the two nations, highlighting their commitment to addressing regional security challenges and fostering stability in the Indo-Pacific, which is increasingly pivotal in global geopolitics.
