IAF and Royal Navy conduct joint aerial exercise over Indian Ocean.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Royal Navy conducted a joint aerial exercise over the Indian Ocean Region, featuring advanced platforms like the IAF’s Sukhoi-30 MKIs and F-35B jets from HMS Prince of Wales. This exercise aimed to enhance interoperability and collective security in the region. Concurrently, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is advancing the Astra Mark 2 air-to-air missile range to over 200 kilometers, significantly boosting India’s aerial combat capabilities. With plans to procure around 700 of these upgraded missiles for its fighter fleets, India is reinforcing its strategic edge in Beyond Visual Range combat, underscoring its commitment to regional stability and defense modernization.
