General Dwivedi introduces 'IKIGAI' framework for Indo-Pacific land forces cooperation.

Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi on December 18, 2025, virtually addressed the 3rd Land Forces Summit hosted by Japan’s Ground Self-Defence Force, unveiling the ‘IKIGAI’ Framework to strengthen land power cooperation among Indo-Pacific nations including Australia, Japan, the Philippines, Malaysia, and the United States. The framework, built on six pillars—Interoperability and Information Sharing, Knowledge and Professional Military Education, International Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief, Generative Technological Partnerships, Assurance for Security Partnerships, and Integrated Logistics and Sustainment—aims to enhance multilateral collaboration, interoperability, and collective preparedness in the region. General Dwivedi emphasized three convergence pillars—Shared Diagnosis, Shared Principles, and Shared Actions—underscoring India’s leadership in harnessing collective land forces for regional peace, stability, and prosperity amid evolving security challenges. This initiative bolsters India’s strategic partnerships, reinforcing its pivotal role in Indo-Pacific defence dynamics.
