Delhi to host India-Russia forum to enhance economic ties and trade.

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s upcoming visit to India on December 4-5 aims to deepen strategic ties and enhance bilateral trade, with a target of reaching $100 billion by 2030. The visit coincides with a two-day India-Russia business forum, focusing on expanding trade across sectors such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and digital services. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov emphasized the historical partnership between India and Russia, highlighting ongoing cooperation in defense and nuclear energy, with discussions expected on the S-400 missile defense system and the Sukhoi-57 fighter jets. Both countries aim to address trade imbalances by increasing India’s exports to Russia while fostering collaboration in emerging technologies and counter-terrorism efforts. Peskov also noted India’s balanced stance on global issues, contrasting it with other nations, and reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to maintaining strong ties with India amidst evolving geopolitical dynamics.
