The Indian Ministry of Defence has refuted media claims regarding the presence of private industry representatives at a recent military cooperation meeting in Russia, emphasizing that the delegation was solely composed of government officials and Defence Public Sector Undertakings. The Inter-Governmental Working Group on Military Technical Cooperation and Defence Industry (IRWG-MTC&DI) convened in Moscow from October 25 to 29, 2025, under the leadership of Secretary (Defence Production) Shri Sanjeev Kumar. The ministry criticized the media for what it termed “baseless” reporting and urged for more rigorous fact-checking in future publications. This meeting underscores the ongoing commitment to strengthening India-Russia defense ties and enhancing military collaboration through established frameworks.
