Chinese envoy acknowledges complexity of India-China border issue resolution.

China’s Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, acknowledged on November 25, 2025, the complexity and long-term nature of resolving the India-China border issue, emphasizing continued diplomatic and military engagement. The ambassador highlighted stable communication channels and recent progress, including the 24th Special Representatives’ Talks held in August 2025, resulting in a 10-point consensus, and the 23rd Corps Commander Level Meeting in October, reinforcing peace along the Western sector of the border. Both nations committed to using existing mechanisms for de-escalation, disengagement, and maintaining tranquility, while China urged placing the border issue in perspective without defining bilateral ties solely by it. These developments coincide with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s August 2025 visit to China and ongoing efforts to revive trade, people-to-people exchanges, and broader cooperation. China expressed willingness to strengthen normalized boundary management alongside India, reflecting a cautious yet constructive phase in managing strategic challenges and regional security.
