Bangladesh’s military intelligence agency, DGFI, is reportedly on a covert mission to Pakistan to collaborate with the ISI in developing strategies aimed at countering India. This delegation, which received new identities upon arrival in Pakistan without standard immigration procedures, is engaged in discussions to establish ISI influence in strategic regions of Bangladesh, reminiscent of pre-1971 dynamics. The ISI’s renewed interest follows political changes in Bangladesh, with increased cooperation between the Pakistan Army and sections of the Bangladesh Army. This development raises concerns about regional stability and India’s security, as it highlights not only the shifting alliances in South Asia but also the potential for increased militant activity influenced by extremist factions within Bangladesh.
