Army Chief General Dwivedi visits UAE, underscores evolving security cooperation.

India’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi, recently embarked on a historic two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), marking the first visit by an Indian Army Chief to the nation. During this visit, General Dwivedi engaged in crucial discussions with Major General Yousef Maayouf Saeed Al Hallami, Commander of the UAE Land Forces, focusing on enhancing bilateral military cooperation, training convergence, and positive military engagement. The talks were set against the backdrop of evolving global security dynamics and regional developments, particularly tensions in the Gulf region. Emphasizing the importance of collaborative defense strategies, General Dwivedi highlighted the roles of senior military leaders in advancing regional and global peace. His visit included interactions with the UAE National Defence College and other military establishments, reinforcing India’s commitment to strengthening defense ties and interoperability with friendly nations in the Indian Ocean Region and West Asia. Following his engagements in the UAE, General Dwivedi is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka, further underscoring India’s strategic military diplomacy in the region.
