The 8th High-Level Meeting between the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) took place in New Delhi on August 11, 2025, reinforcing the maritime partnership between the two nations. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in marine pollution response, search and rescue operations, and maritime law enforcement, as well as capacity building initiatives. Led by ICG Director General Paramesh Sivamani and SLCG Rear Admiral Y.R. Serasinghe, both delegations committed to improving operational coordination and promoting regional maritime stability. This meeting, framed by the 2018 Memorandum of Understanding, highlights India’s proactive approach to maritime security and environmental stewardship in the Indian Ocean region.
