Rajnath Singh announces reforms to modernize army cantonments

The recent decriminalization of minor offenses under the Cantonments Act is intended to improve ease of living and business in these regions. Additionally, Singh underscored the importance of focusing on the welfare of vulnerable groups, promoting eco-friendly initiatives, and fostering financial independence for the Indian Defence Estates Service (IDES) and Cantonment Boards. This strategic roadmap reflects a comprehensive commitment to modernizing defense land management and improving the quality of life for residents, thereby promoting a holistic approach to urban development within the defense sector.
