Defence Secretary stresses structured policy for Aatmanirbharta and public-private collaboration.

Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh emphasized the necessity of a structured policy framework to bolster India’s domestic defense industry through public-private collaboration during the Strategic Insight Conference on Indigenous Development of Critical Technologies for Air Power. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to Aatmanirbharta, advocating for advancements in aero technologies and missile systems to enhance air power capabilities. Vice Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari stressed the importance of expertise in electronic warfare and advanced sensors, while DRDO’s Dr. K Rajalakshmi Menon highlighted innovations such as UAVs and artificial intelligence in defense operations. This initiative reflects India’s strategic aim for technological self-reliance amidst evolving regional security challenges, underscoring the critical role of indigenous development in maintaining aerospace dominance.
