Army Chief Highlights Human Insight and Geography in Modern Warfare
Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi recently emphasized the importance of human intuition and geographical realities amid the rapid technological evolution in warfare, highlighting insights from the ongoing conflict in Ukraine as a crucial learning ground for India’s military strategy. Speaking at the Cavalry Seminar 2025 in New Delhi, he outlined the Indian Army’s strategic priorities, including the establishment of a dedicated Rocket Force by 2032, aimed at enhancing deterrence through advanced long-range strike systems and AI-assisted targeting. He called for a culture of innovation within the Army, linking technological advancements to the broader national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, with an emphasis on integrating multi-domain operations. The discussions at the seminar reaffirmed India’s commitment to modernizing its mechanized forces through indigenous innovation and collaborative efforts, ensuring that human intellect and leadership remain central to operational success amidst evolving warfare dynamics.
