Zorawar Light Tank with NAG MK-2 ATGM Set for Army Induction This Winter

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully validated the combat readiness of the Zorawar light tank with the indigenous NAG MK-2 Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM), paving the way for its induction into the Indian Army this winter. Designed for high-altitude operations, the Zorawar combines advanced mobility, firepower, and protection, addressing the challenges posed by China’s ZTQ-15 light tanks along the Line of Actual Control. With features like explosive reactive armour and enhanced situational awareness, this tank signifies India’s growing autonomy in defense technology and armoured warfare. The impending deployment underscores a critical shift in India’s military strategy, enhancing its deterrence capabilities in mountainous terrains while demonstrating significant strides towards self-reliance in defense manufacturing.
