VEDA and METRAVIB team up to enhance India's armored vehicles with acoustic sensors.

In a significant advancement for India’s defense capabilities, VEDA Aeronautics has formed a strategic partnership with France’s METRAVIB Defence to produce advanced acoustic sensors for Indian armored vehicles, including tanks and infantry combat vehicles. This collaboration, rooted in the Make in India initiative, will see the establishment of a dedicated production line in Bengaluru, ensuring complete indigenous assembly and the transfer of critical technologies, including source codes and algorithms, which grant India sovereign control over future upgrades. Simultaneously, Bharat Forge has teamed up with VEDA Aeronautics to develop indigenous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and aerial weapon systems, leveraging Bharat Forge’s expertise in micro-jet propulsion technology. Through this partnership, the companies aim to enhance India’s autonomy in defense production, reduce reliance on imported technologies, and strengthen the defense industrial base. These developments underscore a growing trend of private-sector innovation within India’s defense ecosystem and signify a pivotal shift towards self-reliance in advanced military technologies.
