US Army Awards $900.5M Contract for Javelin Missiles

The U.S. Army has awarded the Javelin Joint Venture a $900.5 million contract for Javelin missiles, marking a significant milestone with Brazil and Tunisia as new international customers. This follows an earlier production contract aimed at enhancing production efficiency due to increasing global demand, particularly in NATO allies and the Indo-Pacific region. The Javelin system, developed by Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, has been recognized as the world’s most effective anti-armor system, with over 55,000 missiles produced. This contract underscores the confidence in Javelin’s reliability and effectiveness in addressing evolving defense needs globally, reflecting the growing international collaboration in defense capabilities.
