Ukraine signs landmark deal for 100 Rafale jets from France amid conflict.

On November 17, 2025, Ukraine formalized a historic agreement with France to acquire up to 100 Dassault Rafale fighter jets, alongside advanced air defense systems and drone platforms, enhancing its military capabilities amid ongoing Russian aggression. This landmark deal, signed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and French President Emmanuel Macron, reflects France’s commitment to bolstering Ukraine’s defense autonomy and modernization efforts. The acquisition is part of a broader strategy to improve Ukraine’s air combat capabilities, complementing its existing fleet of Western aircraft, including US-made F-16s and French Mirage jets.
