Tejas MkII: India's first fighter with advanced Auxiliary Computer for enhanced mission capability.
The Tejas MkII has made significant advancements as India’s first indigenous fighter aircraft equipped with an Auxiliary Computer (AC), enhancing its operational capabilities and redundancy. Developed by the Aeronautical Development Agency and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, this triune computing architecture includes a Digital Flight Control Computer and a Mission Management and Display Computer, elevating mission support and safety in high-threat environments. By integrating the AC, which monitors system health and performs auxiliary tasks, the Tejas MkII enhances resilience and reduces pilot workload, positioning it as a critical asset for the Indian Air Force. This development aligns with India’s goal of achieving aerospace self-reliance under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and represents a significant step toward the future Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft program.
