Solar Explosives Reveals M2 Motor for India’s Project Kusha Defense Initiative
In a significant advancement for India’s defense capabilities, Solar Explosives recently showcased the M2 solid rocket motor, integral to the Indian Air Force’s Project Kusha long-range air defense initiative, during a visit by Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh. This program, aimed at developing an indigenous multi-tiered surface-to-air missile system comparable to the S-400, features the M2 motor designed for high-thrust propulsion, enabling hypersonic speeds and precision guidance. With over 80% indigenous content, the M2 aims to enhance India’s aerial defense against various threats, including stealth assets, with trials anticipated in 2026 and a target for operational deployment by 2030. This development underscores India’s commitment to self-reliance in defense technology, strengthening its strategic position in the region.
