Russia Proposes HAL as Key Partner for Su-57E Global Exports
Russia is proposing India as a key partner in the production and global export of the Su-57E stealth fighter, aiming to revitalize its fifth-generation fighter program amid slow domestic sales and sanctions. This partnership could allow India to integrate its own advanced systems, aiding the Indian Air Force’s capabilities while bolstering the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiative. However, concerns over U.S. sanctions and Russia’s control of export markets persist. Should India accept, it could enhance its defense manufacturing ecosystem and potentially emerge as a global supplier, reminiscent of its successful collaboration on the Su-30MKI, which significantly elevated its credibility in the international arms market.
