Russia establishes Unmanned Systems Forces to enhance drone warfare capabilities.

On November 11, 2025, Russia officially launched the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF), a dedicated military branch for drone warfare, expanding its operational capabilities across aerial, land, surface, and underwater domains. This initiative follows a strategic directive from President Vladimir Putin and aligns with Ukraine’s earlier formation of a similar unit. The USF, now fully operational, is engaged in advanced drone technologies and electronic warfare, with significant technological support from Beijing for mass production of drones. This development underscores Russia’s commitment to modernize its military capabilities in response to evolving warfare dynamics, a trend closely observed by Indian defense analysts due to its implications for regional drone warfare strategies.
