Pratt & Whitney Canada plans to localize the manufacturing of PW127G turboprop engines in India for the Airbus C-295M aircraft, enhancing India’s Make in India initiative. The Tata Group will assemble 40 C-295M aircraft and is in talks for an additional 100. This move aims to reduce import reliance, create jobs, and boost the aerospace supply chain. The localization effort will also involve partnerships with Indian suppliers and is expected to generate substantial employment and technology transfer benefits. Additionally, the C-295M program will modernize the Indian Air Force’s transport fleet while positioning India as a potential exporter of aircraft and engines to regional allies.
