PAF Admits DA-20 EW Aircraft Unused in May 2025 Conflict

In a revealing admission, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has confirmed that its DA-20 electronic warfare aircraft, previously touted as a pivotal asset during the May 2025 conflict with India, never engaged in the hostilities due to logistical constraints. This acknowledgment, buried in a recent ISPR report, contradicts earlier claims of the aircraft’s operational superiority over Indian forces. Following a significant strike on its base, the PAF faced operational limitations, with reports indicating that its reliance on a few high-value assets like the DA-20 has left critical vulnerabilities exposed. As India continues to enhance its indigenous defense capabilities, including the production of the Tejas fighter, the PAF’s struggles underscore the shifting balance of power in the region, raising questions about its future operational effectiveness.
