OrbitAID Aerospace has inaugurated a new R&D hub in Bangalore, focusing on satellite servicing and on-orbit refuelling, a significant advancement for India’s indigenous capabilities in space technology. The facility, featuring a mission control room and specialized refuelling infrastructure, aims to enhance the longevity of satellites, subsequently reducing operational costs for satellite operators and bolstering national security assets. With a focus on rendezvous and proximity operations, the hub is positioned to support future space logistics and debris removal initiatives. By aligning with ISRO’s ecosystem, OrbitAID is set to catalyze innovation and workforce development, reinforcing India’s growing stature in the global space industry and its shift towards service-oriented space infrastructure, essential for long-term orbital sustainability.
