NTH and DMSRDE sign MoU to enhance India’s defense research and testing capabilities.
On December 29, 2025, the National Test House (NTH), under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, and DRDO’s Kanpur-based Defence Materials and Stores Research and Development Establishment (DMSRDE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to bolster collaboration in research, testing, and training, advancing India’s defence self-reliance. This pact enables sharing of advanced laboratory facilities and instrumentation, mutual support for specialised testing where in-house capabilities are limited, and knowledge exchange among scientific personnel through seminars, workshops, and training programs. Established in 1912, NABL-accredited NTH complements DMSRDE’s expertise in non-metallic materials like polymers, composites, and elastomers vital for defence applications, streamlining certification, enhancing resource efficiency, and aligning with Atmanirbhar Bharat to fortify national security and technological sovereignty.
