New Ordnance company achieves record ₹3,545 crore in exports.
The seven new companies formed from the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) have achieved record exports of ₹3,545 crore, a remarkable turnaround from a previous net loss of ₹2,844 crore. This change, following a successful corporatisation process initiated in 2021, has led to increased profitability and a focus on developing new markets, with Munitions India Limited leading in exports. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s push for doubling the R&D budget underscores the commitment to maintain competitiveness and innovation in weaponry and ammunition. This strategic shift not only enhances India’s defense capabilities but also positions it as a growing player in the global arms market.
