Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is set to manufacture the high-speed expendable aerial target, ABHYAS, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for realistic aerial threat simulations. ABHYAS has successfully completed ten flight trials, showcasing its reliability and capability to mimic combat aircraft. This system features advanced navigation technology, modular payloads, and the potential for transformation into various tactical roles, enhancing its versatility. The production handover to L&T underscores India’s commitment to indigenisation and the Make in India initiative, linking state research with private-sector manufacturing, thereby advancing operational readiness and self-reliance in the defense sector.
