L&T Semiconductor, C-DAC, and IIT Gandhinagar have signed a Tripartite Agreement to develop a secure chip for electronic passports, enhancing India’s technological sovereignty and aligning with the Make in India initiative. This fully indigenised solution minimizes reliance on imports and establishes a robust semiconductor ecosystem. The partnership aims to nurture talent, foster innovation, and drive research in secure integrated circuits, reinforcing India’s leadership in critical technologies. By leveraging combined strengths, this collaboration is expected to deliver trusted, secure solutions entirely produced in India, setting new benchmarks for global innovation while safeguarding national security interests.
