Larsen & Toubro (L&T) in partnership with BAE Systems has secured a licensed manufacturing contract from the Indian Army for the BvS10 Sindhu, an upgraded variant of the all-terrain BvS10 platform. This initiative will see L&T produce the vehicles at its Armoured Systems Complex in Hazira, leveraging BAE’s design and technical expertise. The BvS10 Sindhu has been specifically adapted to meet India’s diverse geographical demands, proving its performance through trials in both sea-level and high-altitude environments. The Indian Army has noted the vehicle’s superior mobility and flexibility in extreme climates, which are critical for operational readiness. This program underscores India’s commitment to indigenous defense manufacturing, enhancing L&T’s engineering capabilities alongside BAE Systems’ established defense experience and marking the BvS10’s first entry into the Asian market.
