Lockheed Martin to establish C-130J co-production hub in India.
Lockheed Martin announced plans to establish a co-production facility for the C-130J Super Hercules in India, marking the first global hub outside the United States. This initiative aligns with the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) search for up to 80 tactical lift transport aircraft, with the C-130J being highlighted as a proven choice, already in operation with the IAF. The partnership with Tata Advanced Systems aims to enhance India’s defense capabilities, further integrating local industry into the supply chain. Additionally, a defense maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility is being set up in Bengaluru, signifying a robust commitment to bolstering India’s military aviation infrastructure and advancing indigenous manufacturing in defense.
