LAT Aerospace has announced that its electric ultra-Short Take-Off and Landing (uSTOL) UAV demonstrator is nearing its maiden flight following successful ground roll tests, marking a significant milestone in India’s aerospace innovation. The UAV, designed with an impressive lift coefficient (CL) of 5, allows for a take-off distance of just 40 meters and boasts a 60-minute endurance, facilitating autonomous cruising between major Indian cities like Mumbai and Pune. This development underscores the startup’s commitment to revolutionizing regional air connectivity through hybrid-electric STOL platforms, which can operate from compact air-stops without reliance on large commercial airports.
