Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has urged Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to retain the BrahMos manufacturing facility, BrahMos Aerospace Thiruvananthapuram Limited (BATL), in its current structure and not to separate it from its parent company. He emphasized that this separation could hinder local manufacturing and industrial development in Kerala, raising concerns among workers about potential operational disruptions. Additionally, CM Vijayan highlighted BATL’s vital role in supporting prestigious institutions like ISRO and DRDO, reinforcing its importance in India’s defense manufacturing landscape. The appeal underscores the state’s commitment to bolstering the defense industry while ensuring job security for local workers.
