Kalam Labs Unveils Stratospheric Kamikaze UAV for Indian Army
Kalam Labs demonstrated its Stratospheric Kamikaze UAV to the Indian Army at HQ Artillery, Devlali, Nashik, on July 31, 2025. The new drone, designed for precision strikes from altitudes of up to 33,000 feet and capable of targeting enemy positions up to 100km away, highlights India’s advancements in indigenous aerial warfare technology. Featuring GPS-independent navigation, a low radar and acoustic signature, and swarm compatibility, the UAV can coordinate attacks and evade defenses in challenging high-altitude regions like Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh. Its compact build and autonomous operation impressed Army officials, who emphasized its utility for over-the-horizon reconnaissance and quick-response missions. The successful test positions Kalam Labs at the forefront of India’s evolving defense drone ecosystem, reflecting the Army’s focus on modernization and self-reliance amid shifting regional dynamics.
