Indonesia shows interest in procuring BrahMos missile, confirms Defence Minister.
Indonesia has expressed interest in acquiring the BrahMos missile, as confirmed by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh during a recent event in Uttar Pradesh. The BrahMos, an indigenously developed supersonic cruise missile, is manufactured at a state-of-the-art facility in Lucknow, which became operational in May. Singh highlighted the strategic significance of the BrahMos, noting its successful deployment during Operation Sindoor, where it effectively bypassed advanced Pakistani air defense systems, showcasing India’s growing defense capabilities. The facility, part of the ambitious Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor project, underscores India’s commitment to enhancing its defense production capabilities and fostering international defense partnerships, as countries like Indonesia seek to strengthen their military arsenals. This development not only exemplifies India’s advancements in defense technology but also reflects the nation’s increasing influence in the global defense landscape, further cementing its stature as a key player in regional security dynamics.
