Indonesia has expressed interest in procuring the BrahMos missile system, as announced by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. This request comes after the production of the first batch of BrahMos missiles at a new facility in Lucknow, operational since May 2023, which is part of the ambitious Uttar Pradesh Defence Corridor initiative. The facility, established at a cost of Rs 300 crore, demonstrates India’s growing defense manufacturing capabilities and technological advancements. Singh emphasized India’s enhanced global standing under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, noting that the nation is now taken seriously on the world stage, signifying a shift in international perceptions of India’s defense strengths.
