India's DRDO Unveils Autonomous Biped and Quadruped Robots

India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has made significant strides in military robotics with the successful demonstration of its bipedal and quadruped robots under the STAR program. These innovations aim to enhance operational effectiveness in high-risk environments, aligning with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. The biped robot features bioinspired manipulation abilities and advanced AI for autonomous operations, while the quadruped excels in mobility across challenging terrains. Both robots address crucial military and civilian applications, showcasing India’s commitment to indigenous defense technology and reinforcing national security capabilities ahead of the 2035 target for the Rashtriya Suraksha Kavach.
