India's defence exports hit Rs 25,000 crore; targets Rs 50,000 crore by 2029.

India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced a historic achievement in defence exports, reaching a record Rs 25,000 crore, with a bold target of Rs 50,000 crore by 2029 alongside Rs 3 lakh crore in domestic manufacturing. During his visit to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Nashik, he inaugurated the third production line for the Tejas Mk1A fighter jet and praised HAL’s pivotal role in advancing India’s self-reliance in defence. The Tejas Mk1A, a 4.5-generation multi-role aircraft, showcases India’s growing capabilities in modern military aviation. This development underscores India’s commitment to enhancing its defence manufacturing sector and reducing reliance on foreign imports, ultimately strengthening national security and regional stability.
