India’s leading armoured platform manufacturer, Armoured Vehicles Nigam (AVANI), is actively seeking global partnerships to expand its export capabilities, particularly targeting markets in Africa, West Asia, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia. This initiative aligns with the Indian government’s push for increased defense exports, as evidenced by a substantial rise from ₹81 crore in 2019-20 to over ₹3,545 crore in the recent fiscal year. AVANI’s offerings include the Arjun Main Battle Tank and T-90 tanks, along with spare parts and support services for various platforms, positioning it as a competitive player internationally. This move not only enhances India’s defense manufacturing reputation but also underscores the strategic shift towards greater self-reliance and global engagement in the defense sector.
