Indian Navy to Enhance ISR with ADE's Jet-Powered HALE UAV
The Indian Navy is set to enhance its maritime security with a new jet-powered High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) UAV developed by the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), aimed at bolstering Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities in the Indian Ocean Region. This UAV is designed to operate at 50,000 feet with over 24 hours of endurance, effectively complementing existing assets like the MQ-9B SeaGuardian and P-8I Poseidon. Its advanced features, including multi-mode radars and the ability to integrate indigenous munitions, are crucial for addressing increasing Chinese naval activities. The initiative aligns with India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat strategy, showcasing a significant step towards self-reliance in defense capabilities.
