Indian Navy Receives First Indigenous Diving Support Craft

The Indian Navy received the first indigenously designed Diving Support Craft (DSC A20) from Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd on September 16, 2025. This craft, part of a contract for five such vessels signed in February 2021, is equipped with advanced diving technology and features a catamaran hull, displacing approximately 380 tons. Designed under the Indian Register of Shipping’s regulations, DSC A20 exemplifies the “Make in India” initiative, showcasing India’s growing self-reliance in defense manufacturing. The hydrodynamic analysis was conducted by the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory, highlighting India’s commitment to enhancing its maritime capabilities through indigenous development.
