Indian Navy Opens Advanced Maritime Hub for Indian Ocean Security
The Indian Navy has inaugurated the Information Fusion Centre-Indian Ocean Region (IFC-IOR) in Gurugram, significantly enhancing maritime safety and security collaboration across the Indian Ocean Region. With state-of-the-art infrastructure, the centre facilitates the hosting of International Liaison Officers from 26 partner countries, promoting prompt information sharing and operational coordination. The initiative aligns with the MAHASAGAR framework, emphasizing mutual security and stability. Additionally, the introduction of the MANTRA software will bolster Maritime Domain Awareness by monitoring commercial shipping activities, reinforcing India’s commitment to a secure and prosperous maritime environment in the region. This reflects India’s proactive stance in fostering regional partnerships against emerging maritime challenges.
