The Indian Navy has inaugurated the state-of-the-art Static Firing Facility, Trinetra, at Bheemunipatnam, Visakhapatnam, on October 8, 2023. Commissioned by Vice Admiral Rajesh Pendharka, this indigenous facility marks a significant step towards self-reliance in weapon system testing, reducing reliance on foreign manufacturers. Trinetra will enhance the operational capabilities and lifespan of naval armaments by providing precise performance assessments for rockets and missiles, thereby improving their reliability in combat scenarios. This development underscores India’s commitment to Aatmanirbharta and boosts the Navy’s readiness and mission capability, reinforcing its strategic posture in the region.
