Indian Defence Goes Global Post-Operation Sindoor, Says DRDO Chief

India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is transforming the nation into a credible global defence technology provider, as highlighted by recent developments after Operation Sindoor. With systems like the Akash and MRSAM showcasing India’s engineering capabilities, international interest is surging, particularly from countries in South-East Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The successful deployment of the DRDO-developed D4 Anti-Drone System during the operation has further demonstrated India’s advanced military innovations, attracting attention for potential acquisitions. Additionally, the BrahMos cruise missile’s recent sale to the Philippines marks a significant step in India’s ambition to achieve ₹50,000 crore in defence exports by 2029, underscoring the evolving role of indigenous defence systems in shaping global military technology.
