Indian Army's Kharga Corps launches indigenous swarm drone fleet for modern warfare.
On December 16, 2025, during Vijay Diwas celebrations in Bhopal marking the 1971 Indo-Pak War victory, the Indian Army’s Kharga Corps unveiled its indigenous swarm drone fleet, featuring over 50 compact fixed-wing UAVs for advanced battlefield roles. These cost-effective drones, priced under ₹50,000 each and built using local materials and 3D printing, boast autonomous swarming intelligence and multi-role versatility, aligning with the Atmanirbhar Bharat push for self-reliance. Showcased alongside innovations like the “Rooster” hybrid drone system proven in Operation Sindoor, the fleet strengthens tactical superiority along western borders, embodying India’s resilient defense evolution amid modern AI-driven warfare.
