Indian Army Upgrades Radar Systems to Counter Drone Threats

The Indian Army is enhancing its air surveillance capabilities with advanced radar systems to counter the drone threats exposed during Operation Sindoor, particularly from Pakistan. This upgrade includes the procurement of Low Level Light Weight Radars (Enhanced and Improved) and Air Defence Fire Control Radar-Drone Detectors, aimed at detecting and neutralizing low radar cross-section drones. These systems will integrate into the Akashteer air defense network, improving situational awareness and engagement precision. This initiative reflects India’s proactive stance in addressing evolving aerial threats, emphasizing indigenous development in technology, and bolstering its preparedness against potential adversaries.
