The Indian Army has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for 30 Indigenous Passive Surveillance Suite & Detection Systems (PSS&DS) to enhance its surveillance capabilities, reinforcing its commitment to self-reliance in defense technologies under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. The state-of-the-art systems, crucial for detecting and tracking threats stealthily, are designed to improve situational awareness in contested environments, particularly along the borders with China and Pakistan. With a minimum requirement of 50% indigenous content, this acquisition emphasizes promoting local innovation and advanced technological capabilities, which is essential for countering modern security challenges, including threats posed by drones and stealth aircraft.
