Indian Army Launches First Upgraded T-72 Armoured Recovery Vehicle

The Indian Army has marked a significant breakthrough in its modernization efforts with the rollout of its first overhauled T-72-based Armoured Recovery Vehicle (ARV) at the Army Base Workshop in Pune. This refurbishment, executed in collaboration with Airbornics Defence and Space Private Limited, involved comprehensive restoration of the ARV to enhance its operational capabilities, ensuring it meets modern battlefield requirements. The initiative aligns with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, underscoring the importance of self-reliance in defense production and the active role of private enterprises in bolstering military capabilities. This development not only extends the service life of critical assets but also reflects a strategic commitment to maintain and upgrade existing military resources, enhancing the Indian Army’s operational readiness in challenging environments.
